Quest
Types
World of Warcraft quests are varied and numerous. Depending
on their type, they could be one time quests or repeatable
quests or something in-between. The following is a list of
quest types and their description
The quest types are:
- Daily Quests
- Solo Quests
- Group Quests
- Raid Quests
- Repeatable Quests
- Heroic Quests
- PvP Quests
- Seasonal Quests
- Dungeon Quests
There are nine types of quests, each has different criteria.
Let's take a closer look at each one.
Daily Quests - Considered a sub-type of
repeatable quests, they can only be done once every 24 hours.
Each realm has a different reset time that never changes, so
track the time if your intention is to repeat the quest often.
A player can only do 25 daily quests per day.
Solo Quests - Most quests are single
player, but a solo quest can vary in character level depending
on your class.
Group Quests - Intended for use with a
group, a group quest will give a recommended number of players
needed to complete it. Good players can usually complete these
quests with less than the recommended players thereby profiting
more.
Raid Quests - Need to complete a given
objective during a raid instance or an outdoor boss during a
raid. These are considered one of the hardest quest types to
complete.
Repeatable Quests - Usually repeatable
quests start off as normal solo quests. Once completed they
then become available as repeatable quests. These are primarily
used as reputation builders for a particular faction. You
usually only get a reward and xp points the first time you
complete this type of quest, thereafter you only gain
reputation. There are exceptions such Darkmoon Faire which
repeatable quests that increase reputation and reward tickets
each time they are completed.
Heroic Quests - Non-raid instance Heroic
mode quests. Considered to be the most difficult of non-raid
quests.
PvP Quests - Can only be completed when
flagged for PvP and in a battleground or zone.
Seasonal Quests - These are mostly
non-repeatable during the same season but can be completed
again the following year.
Dungeon Quests - Take the form of an
objective during an instance. Closely related to solo and group
quests.
